Parents and Grandparents Desire Timeless Memories
In terms of people portraits, the most frequent request I receive is to draw or paint children. Parents know all to well that childhood goes by quickly. Capturing a moment in time with a hand painted portrait gives Parents and Grandparents a lasting memory of a child at a particular stage.
Portraits of People who will Never Meet
Sometimes I am asked to create portraits that bring together people who would never have the chance to meet, such as a family member who has passed away and a new baby who arrived afterwards. I have the ability to draw multiple individuals from separate photographs, making it appear as if they are interacting within the artwork. Perhaps a Grandmother who never met their Grandson.
A Pet Lover’s Portrait
I am commissioned to create portraits of friends’ dogs as gifts for a Special Birthday or Christmas. Some pet owners will know their pet is getting on in years and they want to have a precious keepsake. Often I am asked to draw dearly departed pets to help provide lasting memories.
